So the last post was a bit presumptuous of me. Yahoo BB sent me a bum modem that turned off every 15 seconds or so. Needless to say, the internet use was a bit limited because of it. But after a frenzied charade to my supervisor at the board of education, he made the call to yahoo and yahoo replaced my modem. So far, so good. The modem is even nice this time around.
Hopefully this will mean I will put this blog better to use.
I just tried to put some pictures on here, but blogger is down for a while. Oh well, it will give me some time to get some more pictures anyway.
So last weekend I went to visit my friend Jon in Okayama. Okayama is the prefecture to the west of Hyogo. He lives about 30 minutes west of Okayama's big city, Okayama City. We went to the city on saturday and I got to see their castle and garden and whatnot. Plus, they have a five story 100 yen store. Always a plus. But Friday night, Jon's neighbours wanted to meet me so they had us over for what I thought would just be a quick chat but ended up lasting until about 2am. His neighbours are pretty much the social centre for the small little town they live in. They had all sorts of food out for us and were really eager for us to try it all. Best of all, the mom makes her own wine from grapes. So we got to teach her the word "moonshine".
Today was my last day of sitting around at the board of education, so now I will sit around at my middle school. School officially begins next Monday, but there won't be any real classes for another week or so. All their time will be dedicated to the sports festival held in two weeks.
Well, it's getting late so I ought to go to bed. I have to impress my fellow teachers tomorrow. Which won't be to hard considering they all have vocally told me that I'm handsome and young.
