“Hoppy Busday Scotto”
I heard that lovely phrase about 200 times yesterday from my students, mostly in the form of shrieking across the school. It’s one of those simple rewards in life that makes you wonder where am I and what am I doing?
I feel I should recollect about my 23 years and say something profound. But after reading summer vacation essays that mentioned “I had play Soccer. It was very enjoyed” in every essay, I’m not sure I’m the best person for profound statements anymore. I will say that since my 22nd birthday I am a university graduate and have full time employment. I also have a king size bed and a heated shower room complete with a spa bathtub. What a difference a year makes. I’m not sure where I will spend my next birthday, but be it Japan or Nunavut (after Japanese summer, I’m looking into arctic environments), I’m hoping it will be a continuation of the adventure called life. (How’s that for both profound hallmarky?)
