Back to School

Sports day practice has been taking up the past few weeks of school. This is usually just a lot of marching around and yelling. And some Nazi salutes thrown in to boot. The actual sports festival was held last Saturday. There was a rain scare in the morning, but luckily the rain held off so they were able to have the sports day on schedule. It was pretty much the exact same as last year, they even had me run in the same relay again. Then at the end of the day, when they were about to do the closing ceremony, the rain returned to pour on the poor kids standing in the field. The teachers made them stand there and everything got soaked. I was under a tent and remained dry. It was a great moment in Japanese education.

The most amusing part of the day was when one of the teachers found that his computer could talk. So he was putting in random strings of numbers for the computer to read out loud. Very loud. And of course it was in English.

That’s about it for my exciting day.
