You may wonder what herbs were put in these sausage-looking things. Me too. First of all, I didn’t even know there was a real Japanese word for “herb”. Usually in the grocery store the herbs are all labeled “haabu”, the Japanese English word for herbs. Second of all, I think that the sausage was chicken. It was decent enough, but cold sausages are never my forte.

I really like the tomato soup that the lunch ladies make. It’s not really that it’s great or anything, but I just never have tomato soup that much. They put soybeans in the soup to make it eligible for “bean day”, but soybeans don’t really add to the soup. Soybeans can do a lot of things, but not in soups.

And lastly, the salad. The lunch ladies have a hard time with this. They can’t leave well enough alone and just put some vegetables alone with a dressing. They either want to put fish flakes in it or just add something else. Today, they added mandarin oranges. But the rest of the salad was actually salted. So it had this bizarre flavour that it hard to describe. Never mind, I can describe it. Fail.
