Chinese Spicy Tofu on top of rice (マーボーどんぶり)
Milk(牛乳)
Fried spring roll(揚げはるまき)
Spinach and bean sprout namul(ほうれん草ともやしのナムル)
860 Kcal
I’m always afraid of anything Chinese on the kyuushoku menu. Chinese to the lunch ladies always seems to mean “quail eggs”. Luckily, today was not the case. The powers that be deemed the spicy tofu to not mix with quail eggs. And for that, I am grateful. They even added in something resembling chili.
Whoever made the namul today certainly wanted us to get our daily allotment of sodium. Usually the namul is goodish, just lacking in salt. Maybe they just never mix the vegetables up very well and I got a serving of namul from the top of the pan.
The fried spring roll was nicer than normal today too. I don’t know what that was about. To top it all off, I was able to scoop half of my mountain of rice onto the bowls around me since no one was in the lunch room when I got there. Great success.
