Today was the first kyuushoku of the new school year. I guess it was a pretty decent start.

The rice had red shiso in it. Red shiso just tastes kind of salty, but it’s better than nothing.

The tempura thing was little tiny fish and some sort of vegetable, a pretty normal fried thing for the kyuushoku ladies.

Udon noodles usually don’t go so well in kyuushoku because the noodles have to sit in theses containers for who knows how long until we actually eat it. So the noodles are always soggy, but today for some reason that worked. The udon broth had flavour and I was left satisfied, a rare happening.

And then there was the smoky trash salad... The lunch ladies must have ran out of money or something because there weren’t as many fish flakes mixed in as usual. This made the salad thing taste a whole lot less like smoky trash and a whole lot more like spinach and cabbage. I prefer to taste things that aren’t smoky trash please.
