I’m a big fan of the sandwich day. The other teachers...not so much. I have yet to understand what is so hard about putting things into bread and eating the result, but making a sandwich remains a puzzle of most people here. You might as well tell them to make an escape vehicle from a paper clip, some fish scales and a moldy orange rind; I’d hear less complaining.
This pork and beans soup thing always intrigues me. I just can’t remember what is in an American can of “Pork N Beans”, but I’m pretty sure there aren’t any soybeans. The pork and beans soup here is more like a slightly thin tomato soup with potatoes, onions, cabbage, pork and soybeans.
