Kyuushoku for 15 Jan

Friday

White rice(ごはん)
Milk(牛乳)
Oden(おでん)
Small fish with sesame seeds(ごまじゃこ)
Boiled Chinese cabbage and spinach salad(白菜とほうれん草のひたし)

795 Kcal
36 g of protein

I had two complaints with today’s lunch. One was the obscene amount of quail eggs in the oden. The second was the salad; it always tastes like smoky garbage. I don’t know exactly what they put in that salad (I suspect petrified fish shavings), it’s the same every time and it tastes like trash every time.

These are the tiny little fish that was in today’s lunch. However horrifying they look, they’re pretty good. It kind of feels like fish genocide or munching on bait, but I enjoyed it. This could be the result of living in Japan.

Today wasn’t too bad, but wasn’t too good. I liken it to eating air with a slight flavour of the sea while being stared at by hundreds of tiny little fish.
