Today was a welcome retreat from whatever yesterday was. Today’s kyuushoku theme was supposed to be “Italian” but except for the Italian flag on the menu, I didn’t really see it. The “Minestrone” soup was like a thin tomato-vegetable soup with spaghetti noodles in it. There was a lot of oil in it from something, but come to think of it, they probably just put in olive oil to make “Italian soup”. I think adding basil to a boiled cabbage and cucumber salad was the other part of today’s Italian meal. A worthy try, but ultimately...fail. Luckily everything tasted good and the kiwi was ripe enough to eat. The lunch ladies could have named today’s menu, “Norwegian delight” and I don’t think anyone would have noticed.
