Wednesday
Birthday menu

Rice with adzuki beans(赤飯)
Milk(牛乳)
Grilled smelt shishamo(焼きシシャモ)
Potherb mustard and bean sprouts with sesame dressing
(小松菜ともやしのごま和え)
Miso soup with tofu(とうふのみそ汁)
Satsuma orange jelly(みかんゼリー)

755 Kcal
31.4 g of protein

Today was a fail as I completely forgot to take a picture of the food. But today’s menu isn’t really all that different from other birthday menus from before.

I ate lunch with the 1st graders, so I was kind of busy fighting them off. They see me more as a tree than a person. Then the teacher asked my the famous Japanese question, “Do you eat rice in America?” . Oh Japan.

Today’s lunch was pretty good. I’ve grown to love the shishamo and all that comes with it.

One thing is that the jelly is always frozen when they serve it. I guess so that it stays colder longer. It’s kind of like eating frozen jello. It’s better than you’d think.

5 shishamo
