Friday
Birthday Menu

Rice with adzuki beans(赤飯)
Milk(牛乳)
Grilled salted salmon(サケの塩焼き)
Potherb mustard and bean sprouts with dressing(こまつなともやしの和え)
Miso soup with tofu(とうふのみそ汁)
Sweet summer Satsuma jelly(あま夏みかんゼリー)

765 Kcal
36.4 g of protein

The birthday menu comes again. The nurse complained that the adzuki beans were too hard. Everyone gave her a stare of disapproval for criticizing the holy birthday menu. They weren’t hard anyway.

I liked this salad. When I first saw it, I was afraid it was the trashy smoky salad, but I was wrong. Thank goodness. My stomach was still recovering from yesterday’s mismatched meal.

The jelly was alright but not the best we’ve had. I’m not a fan of this sweet summer mikan business. It’s just sour and hard. Luckily the jelly wasn’t as sour, but it would be better with any other fruit.

I don’t know what I’m going to do when I’m in America and birthdays aren’t associated with fish and beans.
