I guess “kyuuri momi” (what I thought were salted sliced cucumbers) is more of a vinegary salty wakame seaweed, cabbage and cucumber thing. It wasn’t bad.
The scrambled tofu stew was good but a little sweet. Hold back on the mirin lunch ladies. The stew had tofu, peas, eggs, konjak jelly, carrots, shiitake mushrooms and some chicken.
I usually like sea bass, but for some reason the fish wasn’t the best today. Maybe it just doesn’t go too well with ginger. It was one of those foods that you can say with assurance “that was good” if you are at a friend’s house, but you wouldn’t order it again at a restaurant.
And last but not least, the traditional Japanese dessert: cherry tomatoes.
