The sesame bread thing was pretty good today. But I know that the kids definitely didn’t like it. Japanese bread tends to be full of nothing but sugar (much like American white bread), so that’s what the kids are used to. The kyuushoku bread is supposed to be healthy as a part of the kyuushoku programme, so they can’t fill it with sugar. Making it both taste good and a cause for complaint for the kids. The bread today seemed like it was even made with whole wheat, so there’s no doubt the kids didn’t like it. And I was right; I’m looking at a bag of leftover bread right now.

Corn stew is a hit and miss kyuushoku item; luckily today it was more of a hit. I hate those days when it’s a stew and BAM, there’s a scallop in your spoon. It’s fine if other people want to eat shellfish, but I just can’t trust anything that sleeps where it goes to the bathroom.

Everything else was a pretty standard “ok”. After last weeks adventure into the realm of edibility, I’ll take an OK and be happy with it.
