Well I guess that grilled trout comes up pink. Before I was thinking that all the pink “trout” fish was really just salmon, but a self-proclaimed fish expert corrected me. It’s become wiser in the way of the fish.
Today there was a whole lot of the burdock root thing (gobo kinpira), so I had enough of that to last me for a while. Since it’s not the smoky trash salad, I’ll eat it and be happy.
Today’s miso soup was supposed to be “chop full of” potatoes. But I had none. This is an ok thing. I wish the lunch ladies would just make miso soup every day and quit trying anything else. The traditional Japanese diet is supposed to include miso soup every day, so why not be traditional in this way. Instead of trying to be “traditional” with your smoky trash.
