Since the homeroom teachers are being sent out to visit the students’ homes, the classes were shortened to 45 minutes. This meant that lunch was about 20 minutes earlier than normal. I guess the kyuushoku ladies don’t really care, so all the boxes of food came at the exact same time meaning a bunch of rushed teachers resembling headless chickens. I helped by setting the soup bowls on the tray, but you would have thought I’d just found the Holy Grail by the thanks I received.
A plus of the today’s rush meant that everything was actually warm when I ate it.
Since Japan has about fifty billion different “vegetable soups, I thought I’d list what was in today’s version of vegetable soup. Tiny mushrooms, cabbage, fish paste tube, pork, burdock root and Japanese white radish adorned today’s soup.
The chicken thing was nice. It was like Japanese McNuggets.
