Instead of using my keitai, I decided to bring a real camera to school today. As you can tell, my real camera makes the food look just a little more appetizing. I can’t tell if I like this better. I kind of enjoyed the shockingly terrible pictures of kyuushoku to go with my descriptions. The terrible lighting and low resolution of my cell phone goes better with the prison settings of these schools. Just for colour reference, the yellow of the tray is the normal colour of the trays.
Today’s menu challenged the stomach. Luckily I have a stomach of steel and I can fight off the oddest of food coordinations. The lunch ladies put a whole lot of stuff into the yakisoba (chow mein) like pork and fish tube and some vegetables. Then the omelette has ketchup slathered on top, all sitting dangerously close to a literal salad covered in sweet yoghurt. I tried to keep the ketchup out of the way of the yoghurt and barely accomplished this.
I ate lunch today with the kids in the lunchroom. Only about thirty kids attend this school so we all fit in one room. I almost felt like I was back in elementary school myself. The school even has those long combination table/round chair things like we have in every American cafeteria. The taste of the fish tube make me quickly realize Kansas, this was not.
