Today was interesting, but genuinely interesting. The green peppers with tiny fish was much better than I would have ever expected. These kind of little fish, jako, grow on you. I would have never thought I would like such a thing before I came to Japan.
I’m not really sure where the idea for the omelette came from, but whatever. At least it wasn’t smothered in ketchup like normal.
The soup had noodles that were made from fish paste, definitely a very Japanese soup. It was a little bland, but not too bad.
The umeboshi was very very sour today. I really like umeboshi and usually eat a couple a day. But this one was beyond the normal sourness of an umeboshi.
